The Culture and Leisure Administration works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality. We are a politically governed service organization where the residents are our clients. Together, we find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, health, integration, and reduced social exclusion.

The administration consists of five areas of operation:

• Cultural school, youth culture, open youth activities, and leisure activities
• Leisure, sports, swimming pool, ice rink, and association activities
• Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museums, libraries, cultural heritage, Finnish administrative area, and minority work

Sigtuna Cultural School is a creative meeting place in the municipality and has about 30 teachers in music, dance, drama/theater, and visual arts, teaching children and young people aged 0 - 21 years. In addition to regular subject teaching, we conduct a lot of outreach activities and open activities and collaborate with schools through, among other things, co-teaching, cultural pools, and cultural classes. We use the platform StudyAlong.

We want to be an important place for children and young people and meet them on their terms. Through the cultural school, we aim to create good conditions for community, self-esteem, and development, and we actively work to remain relevant and current in a changing society. The cultural school is part of the Culture and Leisure Administration.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to inspire children and young people to express themselves through dance? We are now looking for a dance teacher for the cultural school.

Part-time 20%, teaching takes place on Wednesdays

• Teach dance in school for grades 1, 2, and 3 in small groups
• Collaborate with the students' teachers as needed

Teaching takes place both in Märsta and Skepptuna. Since Skepptuna School is located in the countryside, you need to have a driver's license and access to a car.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Higher education in dance or another education deemed equivalent.
• Experience teaching children.
• Driver's license with access to a personal car.
• Preferably experience teaching dance in school.

We are looking for someone who is relationship-building and has an easy time establishing trusting contacts with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are confident in your role as a teacher, have a professional approach, and create a safe and positive learning environment where each student has the opportunity to develop based on their conditions. As a person, you are also results-oriented, you plan and structure your teaching with clear goals and actively work for students to reach their full potential, both individually and in groups.
